Dating back to at least the 1950's, the Louisiana Historical Markers Program allows private individuals and groups to nominate and commission a marker commemorating events that are important to the state, nation or region. Because of the long history of this program, the location and condition of many of these markers are unknown. We created the LAHM app in order to discover and promote the history of the State of Louisiana.
The goal of this app is to enable the communities that care about these signs to maintain a public data set containing the location and contents of the various signs. If you're interested in becoming part of this community, you can find the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
